The Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, formerly known as the Olympic Stadium of Montjuic, is a municipally owned sports complex located on the mountain of Montjuic in Barcelona. Designed by the Barcelona architect Pere Domènech i Roura, it was designed to host a future Olympic Games that, after four bid attempts, came to Barcelona 63 years after its inauguration. It was inaugurated on May 20, 1929, by King Alfonso XIII, on the occasion of the Barcelona International Exposition, whose sports section was hosted.

Finally, the Olympic Stadium of Montjuic was able to host the Olympics from July 25 to August 9, 1992. With a participation of 9356 athletes, including 6652 men and 2704 women, from 169 national committees. Currently, the stadium hosts the matches of the prestigious team of the city, Futbol Club Barcelona.
