“We Are Nature”: an immersive experience connecting Barcelona with the heart of the planet

CaixaForum Barcelona invites us to rediscover our connection with the natural world through ‘We Are Nature’, an immersive exhibition that offers a sensory journey where art, science and technology come together. Produced by Oasis Immersive Studios in collaboration with National Geographic, the exhibition opened on 18 September and will run until 6 April 2026, marking its European debut after its success in Montreal and Mexico City.

The exhibition is divided into three large thematic areas that explore the planet’s biodiversity through large-format images and immersive soundscapes. Throughout the exhibition, visitors are immersed in vibrant ecosystems that highlight the richness of flora and fauna, as well as the interconnectedness of all forms of life.

‘We Are Nature’ not only celebrates the beauty of the planet, but also sends a clear message about the urgent challenges of conservation. The exhibition’s narrative is inspired by the commitments made during COP-15 in Montreal, where nearly 200 countries agreed to halt biodiversity loss and protect 30% of ecosystems by 2030. This innovative approach has earned the project the Numix 2025 Award, which recognises its outstanding use of digital storytelling.

The experience combines excitement and knowledge through interactive elements, themed settings and educational areas designed especially for families and schools. All this makes the visit accessible and enriching for audiences of all ages.

Mireia Domingo, director of CaixaForum Barcelona, defines the exhibition as ‘an ode to optimism and a celebration of art and biodiversity as a reflection of our inseparable bond with nature.’ For his part, Denys Lavigne, co-founder of Oasis Immersive Studios, highlights the project’s desire to ‘instil hope and inspire collective action through beauty, emotion and knowledge’.

With the participation of international partners such as the United Nations, the David Suzuki Foundation and Age of Union, the exhibition provides a global perspective on the conservation debate. After its run in Barcelona, ‘We Are Nature’ will continue its European tour at CaixaForum Madrid, reinforcing its goal of generating dialogue and environmental awareness across cultures.

An unmissable event for those seeking cultural activities in Barcelona that combine innovation, reflection and a new way of looking at nature.
