Summer is just around the corner, accompanied by good weather, long days and hot sunshine. With it comes the season of outdoor plans, going to the beach and trying to keep cool at all times to keep out of the heat.
When the time comes, we at Aerobús bring you a guide to prepare for the summer, giving you some tips to help you enjoy it better than ever.
Appropriate clothing and accessories
To avoid being too hot during the summer, it is advisable to wear cool clothes, made of breathable and natural fabrics such as cotton. You can wear loose-fitting clothes, as they allow air to circulate more through your body, avoiding the sensation of extreme heat.
Also, it is preferable to wear light and neutral coloured clothes, which are sun-reflective, as dark colours absorb the sun and make you feel much hotter.
In the case of T-shirts, sleeveless T-shirts will always be cooler, i.e. those with straps, leaving the arms more exposed.
As for accessories you can wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun, hats or caps to cover your head and protect your face from the sun. And for your feet you can wear comfortable sandals or flip-flops, letting your feet breathe, and keeping them cooler.
Prepare the skin
It is important to keep the skin protected from the sun’s UV rays, which is why we should apply sunscreen regularly, preferably with a higher protection level of Spf50+.
After being exposed to the sun, it is also important to moisturise the skin and apply moisturiser or after sun, as this repairs the damaged skin, soothes and refreshes it.
Fresh food
Summer is the perfect season to eat fresh, light and healthy dishes, and help you not to feel heavy in the heat, keeping your energy up all day long.
During these days it is important to stay hydrated, either by drinking teas or even flavoured waters. For food, you can opt for salads, smoothies and other light dishes, or summer fruit such as melon or watermelon.
Protect your hair from the heat
Hair is also an important part of us that we have to take care of, so we can use products that avoid damaging it from the sun, chlorine or sea salt. We can also use heat protectors, and we can even opt for a good haircut that will keep us cooler during these hot days.
Protect yourself against the heat
If you want to protect yourself from the heat on a consistent basis, you can use portable fans, fans, drink water constantly, go to air-conditioned places, and walk in the shade whenever possible. And, if you go to the beach or pool, cool off and get under the umbrella.
Engage in refreshing, outdoor activities.
If you do sport or outdoor activities during the summer, try to do them in shady places and indoors with air. You can even do activities that involve water, to keep cool at all times, and avoid extreme heat.
